Mrs. Hughes is thrilled to join the community at SJK, bringing with her 12 years of experience from an International Baccalaureate school in Mississauga. Born and raised in Brantford, Ontario, she has always been passionate about fostering inquiry-based learning environments where students are encouraged to explore, question, and discover knowledge independently. Ms. Hughes' commitment to education is grounded in creating a supportive atmosphere that empowers students to become active, compassionate, and lifelong learners.

What drew her to SJK is the School’s strong dedication to nurturing well-rounded individuals who are not only academically proficient but also socially, emotionally, and globally aware. Ms. Hughes is excited to contribute to the School and looks forward to being part of such a dynamic and innovative community.
Outside of the classroom, Ms. Hughes enjoys reading, snuggling with my pet bunny, and exploring new cultures through travel—all of which enrich my teaching and help me connect with the world around me.
