Mrs. Elizabeth Breen was first attracted to SJK's natural campus where learning can be taken out of the classrooms and by the students' genuine desire to learn. She enjoys teaching in the school's close-knit learning community. Mrs. Breen believes the purpose of education is for students to learn, explore and develop knowledge on how to live in our current and future world. She strives to create a safe environment and open atmosphere where students feel welcomed and free to explore all aspects of learning.
Mrs. Breen provides students with a variety of learning strategies to build their understanding through inquiry-based learning and communication with other students. Her students inspire her to bring new experiences to the classroom. She is dedicated to helping her students reach their full potential by helping them discover their own gifts and abilities. She seeks to provide opportunities for her students to grow and take risks within the classroom.
Mrs. Breen played hockey at University of Waterloo and now enjoys playing hockey with the Upper School students, teaching young hockey players about the game. She enjoys field hockey, hiking, kayaking, crocheting and gardening.
