Mr. Sheldon Pereira

Mr. Pereira comes to SJK from the higher education field. Previously, he was the Vice Provost, Student Experience and Enrolment Management at Sheridan College where he is responsible for Student Affairs, Registrarial Services and Enrolment Management, and Enrolment Innovation. Prior to that, he was Chief of Staff and Senior Executive Officer, Internationalization, at Wilfrid Laurier University. There he was principally responsible for institutional strategic planning, execution of priority strategic initiatives, assessment and impact measurement alongside senior leadership. He also brings to SJK thought leadership on student experience strategies, experiential learning, and strategic enrolment management experience, including domestic and international, as well as deep experience in boarding/residential life.

A committed lifelong learner, Mr. Pereira has a Bachelor of Science from Wilfrid Laurier University, a Master of Design in Strategic Foresight and Innovation from Ontario College of Art and Design University, and he is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Educational Research at Lancaster University in the United Kingdom. His current research focuses on contemporaneous models of leadership in educational contexts that require futures literacy and learner-centred design to support the sustainability of institutions beyond the present paradigm. He has also received executive education certificates from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education in anti-racist leadership, and from First Nations University in advancing truth and reconciliation.

Mr. Pereira has a deep connection to the Waterloo Region with both personal and professional roots here. He is excited to contribute to SJK’s future in this new and exciting role.
