Mrs. Mira Tersigni grew up in a small town in Northwestern, Ontario. She moved to Winnipeg for high school, and after completing her undergraduate degree, she moved to St. Catharines to obtain her Bachelor of Education and Master of Education degrees.

Before coming to SJK, Mrs. Tersigni worked in a French Metis daycare in rural Manitoba, served as program coordinator at a Ukrainian summer camp, taught English in South Korea, volunteered in the NCDSB and taught at an independent school in Oakville. She then taught for three years in Hong Kong at an Ontario International School.

In education, Mrs. Tersigni believes that it's critical to consider the whole child. She feels it's important to honour every child's personal interests and inquiries they have about the big wide world around them. This creates exciting and authentic experiences where the most optimal and meaningful learning happens. Mrs. Tersigni is passionate about helping children master the skill of being present and self-aware. She also loves guiding young children to be able to self-identify positive virtues within themselves and also recognize virtues in those around them.

Mrs. Tersigni was instantly attracted to the outdoor environment and breathtaking nature surrounding SJK. She believes that children are most calm, present, and engaged when they have the opportunity to learn outdoors. She appreciates the warm and welcoming community of students, faculty, and staff at SJK.
